Detailed navigation
Expert technical assessment and modal analysis of a 4.1 MW cement industry drive, utilizing advanced vibration monitoring to identify bearing wear and ensure continuous production in challenging environments.
We executed a specialized on-site technical inspection and diagnostic measurement of a Flender DMG2 22 gearbox, a high-performance parallel shaft unit operating in the demanding cement industry in the Ivory Coast. With a rated power of 4,150 kW, this gearbox is a cornerstone of the plant's production capacity, where maintaining thermal and mechanical stability is critical for preventing unscheduled downtime.
Wikov specialists focused the investigation on the unit's dynamic health, specifically monitoring operating temperatures and vibration levels. To move beyond a standard inspection, we performed a sophisticated modal analysis and evaluated the vibration spectrum. The diagnostic data revealed specific frequency anomalies that indicated advanced wear within the internal assemblies. Based on these precise findings, Wikov provided an expert recommendation for the replacement of the bearings. This predictive maintenance intervention allows the operator to address potential failure points before they lead to a catastrophic breakdown, ensuring maximum reliability and optimized service life for this heavy-duty industrial drive.
