We executed a targeted on-site technical inspection of a Flender-Bocholt SZN 225 gearbox, an orthogonal shaft unit operating in the Agro industry. Despite its compact rated power of 40 kW, this gearbox is a vital component in agricultural processing, where operational reliability directly impacts production timelines and maintenance costs.

The inspection was triggered by reports of excessive noise and acoustic anomalies during operation. Wikov specialists performed a detailed internal audit to pinpoint the source of the mechanical distress. The investigation successfully identified the root cause: an unevenly worn tooth profile on the output pinion. This specific wear pattern was causing irregular meshing, leading to the increased noise levels and potential risk of gear failure. By providing an accurate diagnosis of the component's geometry, Wikov enabled the operator to implement a precise repair strategy, avoiding the costs of a complete unit replacement and ensuring the long-term efficiency of the agricultural machinery.
