Our specialized service facility successfully completed a full refurbishment of a Winergy PEAB 4456.5 (60 Hz US version) gearbox, a core drivetrain component for the Siemens 2.3 wind turbine platform. Operating at a power rating of 2.3 MW, this unit was meticulously overhauled to extend its operational lifespan, enhance mechanical resilience, and maximize energy yield for the wind farm operator.

To ensure superior performance and combat premature wear, we replaced all bearings with high-durability black oxide bearings. Taking the upgrade a step further, the planet bearings were engineered to an advanced integrated design (eliminating the outer race), paired with the installation of brand-new planet gears. Every existing gear was rigorously inspected and either replaced or precision-reworked to meet OEM standards. All consumables, including critical seals and key fasteners, were replaced with new, high-quality components to guarantee a secure, leak-free assembly.

The comprehensive service scope also included essential drivetrain accessories: a fully refurbished shrink-disc, a precision-reworked brake disk, and newly fitted or overhauled brake calipers. To validate its performance under real-world conditions, the gearbox underwent rigorous load testing and was finished with a professional-grade protective coating. Accompanied by full documentation—including inspection, repair, and load test reports—the unit was delivered in pristine plug-and-play condition, ready for immediate and seamless installation into the nacelle.
