Complete "Plug-and-Play" refurbishment of a 2.3 MW Winergy gearbox optimized for 60 Hz operation, featuring premium black oxide bearing upgrades and rigorous full-load verification.
We completed a comprehensive industrial refurbishment of a Winergy PEAB 4456.5 (60 Hz) gearbox, a specialized unit utilized in Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbines operating on 60 Hz grids. In the high-stakes environment of wind energy, reliability is non-negotiable, and our service process is designed to restore every unit to "as-new" mechanical integrity.
The scope of work involved a total teardown followed by a forensic inspection of all internal components. To prevent common failure modes such as White Etching Cracks (WEC), we performed a complete bearing exchange using high-performance black oxide coated bearings. All gears were meticulously inspected, with precision reworks carried out to ensure perfect tooth contact and noise-free operation. The refurbishment also included a new electrical oil pump, a new lubrication block with advanced filtration, and a fully reworked braking system. Delivered in a plug-and-play condition—fully painted and inclusive of all inspection and load test documentation—the gearbox is ready for immediate deployment to minimize site downtime.
