We conducted a comprehensive on-site diagnostic and condition inspection of a Leitner KSS6/AB gearbox, a specialized perpendicular shaft unit serving the ropeway industry. In an application where passenger safety and absolute reliability are the highest priorities, a rated power of 300 kW and a high reduction ratio of 66.73:1 require precise mechanical monitoring.

Wikov specialists performed a deep technical analysis, including an expert evaluation of the internal gear geometry. The inspection successfully detected progressive pitting on the gears of the second and third gear stages. By identifying these early signs of surface fatigue, our team provided the operator with a critical expert opinion and a strategic maintenance roadmap. We recommended an increased inspection frequency to closely monitor the degradation and advised on a proactive replacement plan.
