Wikov is a world pioneer in the field of tidal energy. We have supplied planetary gearboxes for five pilot projects, which is unparalleled in the industry. Our technologies help harvest clean energy from the oceans reliably and efficiently.
At the same time, we participate in hundreds of wind power plants around the world. Our gearboxes function reliably even in extreme climatic conditions, thereby contributing to the development of resilient infrastructure (SDG 9).
Thanks to the acquisition of Litostroj companies, we have expanded our competencies in hydropower. We supply technologies for small hydropower plants as well as large pumped-storage sources, which are key to grid stability when integrating renewable sources.
Every fifth newly manufactured tram in the world uses gearboxes from Wikov.
In more than 80 metropolises across continents, local residents can enjoy cleaner air thanks to our technologies. Electric trains and metro units, for whose bogies we supply hundreds of gearboxes annually, also contribute to the elimination of pollutants.
We actively participate in the transition of freight transport from road to rail. We develop and supply gearboxes for new electric freight locomotives, which are key to reducing emissions in logistics.
We offer greener gearbox variants. Our compact designs save material, increase performance, and reduce the energy intensity of the entire machinery.
In the mining sector, we support technologies for wet grinding of tailings. This allows for recycling and the recovery of valuable raw materials such as nickel, cobalt, and copper, which are essential for the battery industry and electromobility.
We are a traditional supplier for recycling lines – shredders for wood, tires, or construction rubble. Our products are also applied in the pressing of oilseeds for the production of ecological fuels (SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production).
