Refurbishment and Upgrade of Wind Turbine Gearbox

At Wikov Gear service, we carried out a complete refurbishment and performance upgrade of a PEAB 4456.6 gearbox in a Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbine (Winergy design). The project involved a full replacement of all bearings, renewal of planetary stage gears, and a complete refurbishment of the shrink disk. Additionally, key accessories were either upgraded or refurbished to extend the service life of the gearbox.

To ensure reliability and efficiency, the gearbox underwent a comprehensive load test after repair, confirming optimal performance under operating conditions. Thanks to these upgrades, the wind turbine is now prepared for long-term, sustainable operation with minimized downtime and improved energy output.
