Diagnostic inspection of a 28.5 MW Renk gearbox, identifying critical gear damage and contamination issues to prevent failure.
We conducted a comprehensive on-site diagnostic analysis of a Renk TBEQ-850 turbo gearbox for a domestic power generation client. This heavy-duty unit handles a power rating of 28,500 kW with input speeds exceeding 6,000 rpm.
Our inspection revealed critical issues that required immediate attention. We identified damage to the main gearing and recommended a necessary exchange to avoid catastrophic failure. Furthermore, our analysis of the lubrication system uncovered significant oil sediments and carbon residues. Based on these findings, we advised an immediate oil change and the implementation of a rigorous periodic oil quality monitoring program to ensure long-term operational stability.
