Restoration of Renk KPBV-110 mill gearbox

Detailed analysis and restoration of a 1.6 MW Renk gearbox for the cement industry, addressing critical gear fatigue and cracks to restore production.

We executed a critical service intervention for a Renk KPBV-110 gearbox operating in a Turkish cement plant. With a power rating of 1,650 kW and a high reduction ratio, this unit is essential for driving heavy production machinery.

Our initial on-site analysis revealed severe degradation of the internal components. We identified extensive pitting and cracks on the gear teeth—clear indicators of material fatigue that posed an immediate risk of failure. Consequently, the gearbox was fully disassembled and restored. Our team rectified the damaged gearing and reassembled the unit, successfully returning it to operational status and preventing a costly unplanned shutdown.
