We successfully addressed critical operational challenges on a high-speed Flender-Graffenstaden TX71/2 gearbox. With a massive power rating of 51,000 kW, this parallel shaft unit is a key component in the power generation sector, where reliability is non-negotiable.
The unit was suffering from severe overheating, threatening production stability. Our team deployed for an on-site diagnostic and performed a deep root cause analysis to identify the thermal bottlenecks. The solution involved engineering and fitting an upgraded lubrication system tailored to the specific operating conditions. This intervention not only resolved the overheating but optimized the gearbox for sustained performance at its nominal 8,195 rpm input speed.
