On-site inspection and repair of David Brown Radicon H1-280

We conducted a specialized on-site inspection and subsequent restorative intervention on a David Brown Radicon H1-280 gearbox. Operating within the high-stakes power generation sector, this parallel shaft unit handles a rated power of 500 kW. Our mission was to diagnose and resolve vibration issues to ensure the continued stability of the power supply.

Upon detailed analysis, our engineers identified significant pitting damage on the input pinion teeth. To restore the integrity of the gear train, we replaced both the damaged pinion and its mating gear on the second shaft. Furthermore, we addressed critical housing wear by modifying the gearbox casing to eliminate improper clearances between the bore and the bearings. This precision repair eliminated mechanical play, silenced the unit, and secured its long-term operational reliability.
